OOTD: Orchid & Aqua

I really liked this outfit from yesterday but unfortunately didn't get to take a picture until I got home at 9:30pm so the lighting in this photo isn't great and you can see how tired I am. I'm glad I picked up this dress from Old Navy while there was still one left in this color (which the website dubbed "Orchid Sizzle") because it feels so springy and I've been experimenting by pairing it with different colors. Last month I wore it with a yellow cardigan which was a nice combo and last night I paired it with an aqua colored necklace for a nice subtle contrast. It's hard to see the necklace in this picture but it's a pretty color. I got it as a gift from my sister years ago but haven't worn it much because it's actually really heavy. It caught my eye as I was picking out a necklace to wear and I thought it made a nice color combo with the orchid purple. Add some neutrals with the white cardigan and silver sandals and you've got an easy yet fun outfit! :-)

See that cute little fur-ball in the corner of the photo? That's my mom's dog Monty who is staying with us while my parents are on vacation. He wanted to say hi!

What colors do you like to put together for spring/summer outfits? Any unusual color pairings that turned out great?

Easter Sunday OOTD

I finally got around to uploading these Easter pictures from the camera today! We had a nice brunch with my parents. I couldn't get enough of the delicious fruit there and I ate TWO plates full of just fruit! Pineapple, watermelon, blackberries, strawberries, and oranges -- YUM! Here's what I wore:

Navy Floral Dress (Motherhood Maternity)
Navy Cardigan (Target)
Necklace (Anthropologie)
Sandals (Target)

These pictures were taken in our new house. I'll miss my purple walls that were featured in so many of my OOTD photos of the last few months!

Here's me and my sweetie outside of the restaurant:

I'm Back (with an updated Wishlist too!)

Sorry about my long absence! Last weekend we moved into our new rental house and we've been without internet all week. We're not too far from our previous house, but I like the neighborhood better and we're near a couple of parks that we can walk to. We're settling in but still have a bunch of stuff to unpack. I can't wait to get the baby's room set up!

I haven't been taking any OOTD pictures lately, so instead, I'll share my updated wishlist:

1. Bassotto Necklace: I NEED this dachshund necklace but just realized it is sold out online! I was trying to wait until it went on sale but now I'm afraid I'm going to have a hard time finding one. It looks like my beloved Abby who passed away last year so I have to find one so I can wear it in memory of her. Has anyone spotted this necklace in stores? I'll call CS on Monday to search for one but would appreciate any help if someone sees one in their store this weekend.

2. Loosened Shelby Blouse: I love all three versions of this blouse but I think the green is my favorite. I'd love to pick up one of these to wear post-pregnancy.

3. Tiny Tea Rose Posts in yellow: These are so dainty and pretty! I think they'd go with lots of outfits and would be a great addition to my jewelery collection.

4. Wispy Cirrus Blouse: This has been out for awhile but it's still high on my list even though I've never actually seen it in person. I just love the lace and the shade of blue on the sash. I don't have anything like this in my closet and would love to pick it up on sale if there are any left.

5. Sail Shapes Dress: This is another one I haven't gotten to see in person but it has looked so cute on Kim and Sara. Hopefully I can track this one down when it goes on sale too and add it to my post-pregnancy wardrobe.

6. Charleston Cloche: I don't generally look good in hats because I have a ginormous head, but I think I'd like to give this one a try if it goes on sale before our beach vacation next month. Has anyone tried this on? Any opinions?

7. Old Navy Maternity Jean Skirt: The first jean skirt I ordered was way too big, but this one is cuter anyway. I've been embracing the full-panel styles lately since they're just more comfortable at this point. :-)

So, what's on your wishlist? I've seen some good sales lately at LOFT, The Limited, Old Navy, and Target. I got a couple of short-sleeve cardigans for this summer which I'll try to review when they get here.

Have a nice weekend and Easter holiday!

OOTD: Green Stripes

Just a quick post from me this morning! This is my outfit from last night's class. I was hesitant at first to wear horizontal stripes over my growing belly but I love this dress and it miraculously still zips up so I decided to wear it anyway. ;-) I paired it with my beloved Blooming Lattice cardigan which always gets compliments anytime I wear it. It's definitely a fun twist on the classic navy cardigan and I think it might be my most-worn Anthro piece.

Green Striped Dress (Shabby Apple)
Sandals (Target)

I've got so many things on my "to do" list that must get done this week, so I've got to run, but I hope everyone is having a great week. Is anyone already planning something fun for the weekend? I'll tell you about our weekend plans in my next post. :-)

OOTD: Pink Polka Dots

Old Navy has really been my go-to store for cute stuff to add to my wardrobe as my baby bump has been expanding. I've gotten a few actual maternity items, but there are tons of things in the regular section that have been working out well for me too. This pretty coral-pink polka dot shirt that I wore on Saturday is one of my favorite recent purchases. I find that most of Old Navy's clothes run big so I just grabbed a medium instead of a small for this top and it fits well over my stomach with some more room to grow. I like the way it looks with the shorter cardigan.

Grey shorts (Motherhood Maternity)

The bump is getting big!

I hope everyone is getting a great start to their week! This past weekend just flew by for us. We went to a baseball game on Saturday and tried out a new restaurant for brunch on Sunday. Time to get back to work today, I guess! ;-)

OOTD: Farewell to Boots (until Fall)

Ok, don't laugh but after weeks of sandals, I wore my boots yesterday. We had an unexpectedly cool day yesterday so I thought I'd give my beloved Anthro boots one more wear before packing them away until the fall. It might sound a bit silly to wear boots in Florida in April but I got great compliments on them and my whole outfit so I guess people didn't think it was too weird looking. ;-) It's always cold in the building where I teach my class on Wednesday nights, so this long sleeve cardigan was really comfortable. My students told me they liked my outfit and that I always dress cute. They're so sweet! :-)

Field Game Cardigan look-alike (RXB at Belk)
Navy dress (Bealls, gift from Mom)
Gilded Impatiens Necklace (Anthropologie)
Gift Bow Belt (Anthropologie)
Boot socks (Dillards)
Berry Stitched Boots (Anthropologie)

Are there any articles of clothing or accessories you'll miss when summer hits? My favorite season is Fall so boots and sweaters are my favorites. I'll miss them over the next few months!

"Anthro-esque" finds at Target & Kohls

Hi Anthro-fans! I've seen some "Anthro-esque" pieces lately that I wanted to share with everyone. I haven't seen these mentioned on any of the blogs I read regularly, so here's a heads up for anyone who might have missed out on these Anthro items or anyone who just wants something similar at a great price. :-)

First up is this cute cardigan that I got last week at Target. It's really reminiscent of last year's Scribbled Bouquet cardigan. The flower design is very similar, but there aren't as many of them as on the Anthro version. The Target version comes in four pretty colors: blue, green, pink, and beige.
They're on sale now for $20 but it looks like they're sold out online -- but check stores!!

Here I am wearing it on Friday:

Cardigan (Target)
Purple Belt (Anthropologie)
Initial Necklace (Urban Outfitters)
Wedges (Target)

While browsing at Kohls this weekend I found this really cute trench coat by Elle that looks really similar to Anthro's Clinton Trench from last year. It appears to be sold out online but I found some pictures for you. Check your stores because there were several on the racks at mine in all sizes. If I needed another coat, I definitely would have picked this one up! The quality and material were very nice. I think it might be a tad longer than the Clinton Trench but the color was very close (looks lighter than it actually is in the picture). It would be a great alternative if you missed out on the Anthro one and the price is great! I'd say it might run a tad big since I could easily zip the medium up over my preggo bump. ;-)

The Kohls trench also comes in a pretty coral color:

This Sonoma sweater isn't an exact dead-ringer for the Anthro version but it's very pretty and similar. I actually didn't give it a second look on the website but in person it is much nicer. The coral color is a rich shade and the embroidery is more visible. It also comes in blue and beige.

These peep-toe heels by the brand SO look so much like the Seychelles "Trip the Light Fantastic" sandals. If they had come in other colors besides black, I would have snapped these up!

Last, these cute braided SO sandals look a lot like the Seychelles "Get Outta Town" flats, but again, the color selections were more limited (only silver and black). There have been other look-alikes of these sandals over the last year (Target had some last year and DSW has a brand called LifeStride that look the same) but this pair is the least expensive option that I've seen.

The silver was nice but had a goldish undertone that wasn't quite what I was looking for, so I got them in black. They were an extra 10% off at my store. I wore them for several hours on Saturday and found them to be comfortable. They seem to run true to size.

Have a great week everyone! :-)
