OOTD + Anthro Wishlist

I'm working on a "Maia's first week" post (with pictures of her party at grandma's and her first visit to the beach), which I'll post tomorrow. In the meantime, I thought I'd share my OOTD and my current Anthro wishlist. :-)

I got this blouse from Ross a few months ago for really cheap. It reminds me of some of the Anthro blouses by Odille from the last few years.

I'm hoping to make a trip to Anthro soon to check out early fall arrivals and do some reviews. It's been too long! ;-) Fall clothes are my favorite so I can't wait to see what they'll have this year. So far, these items are at the top of my wishlist to try on:

Ajisai Dress: The unusual pattern caught my eye but I have no idea if it will actually look good on me. Has anyone seen any reviews of this yet on anyone's blog??

Montaigne Tee: simple stripes on navy, looks like a good wardrobe staple :-)

Map of the World Skirt: This looks so pretty! Plus, my husband makes maps, so I think even he would approve. ;-) I missed out on the cartography cardigan but I might like this skirt even more.

Loosened Shelby Blouse: I like this new pattern even better than the earlier versions!

Whirligig Dress: This is one of those dresses that might look awful on me but it's worth trying on. I have a feeling the sleeves might hit in a weird place on my arm and the front might be too drapey. I love it from the waist down though and I like all the colors it comes in.

Textured Dots Tights: A must have for my tights collection!

What's on everyone else's wishlists, Anthro and otherwise? Anyone else looking forward to fall weather and fashions like I am? Can we just fast-forward through the rest of summer? I'm already tired of the heat and humidity. ;-)

An Anthro OOTD & Maia Day 7

Today we went on a special outing with Maia to our favorite local restaurant. It's now even more special because it was the last place we ate before Maia was born! We were literally there just a few hours before we went to the hospital. Last Thursday night we went there for a late dinner and I was feeling mild, sporadic contractions during our meal. Within an hour of getting home my contractions were much more intense and only about 10 minutes apart and then six! We headed to the hospital a little after 10:00 pm. Maia was born at 5:40AM on Friday. :-) We eat at this restaurant pretty often so the waitresses remembered that I was still pregnant the last time they saw us and today they got to meet little Maia. She was a perfect angel the whole time we were there! :-)

Here she is having a little meal of her own after I ate my sandwich:

The other exciting thing today (for me at least) was that I got to wear one of my favorite Anthro dresses again! This dress hasn't buttoned since April, so I was thrilled to pull it out of the back of the closet and slip it on today. :-) Even though I had fun experimenting with maternity wear, I missed my regular clothes, especially all of my Anthro dresses and skirts. It's nice to be wearing them again and back in my usual style groove.

Happy twirl!

Miss Maia's OOTD -- We love her in green (and purple, and yellow, and .... ) ;-)

Mommy & Maia OOTD (Day 6)

Here's our first mother-daughter OOTD picture! ;-) We both wore purple today, one of my favorite colors. Grandma came over for a visit and lunch before we got a few things from Target. I can't believe how good my little girl has been about sleeping and eating. Remind me of this later when she's teething and up all night! ;-)

Dinner at Five Guys, Burger & Fries (Day 5 with Maia)

Bright and early this morning we took Maia to her first doctors appointment and she did great. She's in good health, eating and sleeping well. Then tonight we went out to get her this sleeper-rocker to use in the living room when she wants to snooze or lounge. It's really convenient and easy to move between rooms or take with us to grandma's. She really likes it. While we were out, we stopped for a quick dinner at Five Guys. Yum! ;-)

Maia's First Outing (Day 4) + Her "Going Home" OOTD

Today Maia had her first outing! I know some people don't like to take babies out in public when they are only a few days old, but I promise we were very careful. We went to lunch with the grandparents at Panera and then a quick stop at the grocery store. She was so good and we all had fun! :-)

It was pretty funny taking a picture in the produce section of the grocery store but we had to document our girl's first trip out! heehee

Here's her "going home" outfit that she wore yesterday when she came home from the hospital. Her first OOTD post! ;-)

Going Home: Day 3 with Maia

We were so excited to come home from the hospital today! We're already settled in at the house & the dogs are getting used to their new sister and all of her stuff. :-) I'll post some more pictures tomorrow, including the cute pink dress she wore.

Thanks so much to everyone for all of the sweet comments! It's so fun sharing her with all of you! :-)

Mommy & Maia: Day 2

My girl had quite a busy day today! She got her check up from the pediatrician and everything was good, got her first shot, had a visit from Sara (Mommyland), and got her pictures taken by the hospital photographer (which I'll post soon when we get the photo CD). Here she is in her cute doxie outfit. :-) We get to go home tomorrow and can't wait!

Sweet Child of Mine

She's here!  Maia arrived early this morning at a little over 6 lbs. We're thrilled!

Finally, Some Outfit Pictures!

Don't get too excited, these outfits aren't anything special or super stylish! At least I remembered to actually take some pictures though. ;-) Getting dressed has become a bit more challenging lately due to the big baby bump and the hot temps outside. On Wednesday I vowed not to wear one of my usual jersey dresses and instead grabbed this denim skirt. This is definitely a must-have piece for any maternity wardrobe. I feel much more pulled together in this skirt. I love the color of this green cardigan so I paired it with the skirt and a simple tank in a different shade of green. I was also proud of myself for wearing real shoes instead of flip flops! ;-) Love these Target wedges!

Big belly!

Here's one of my lazy jersey dress outfits from last week. At least I tried to be a little creative with the colors and layering the light blue tank underneath.

Even without the style challenges of being late in my pregnancy, I find it hard to be very creative and stylish when it's so hot. I'd love to hear what others are doing to get out of a style rut when the temperatures are rising!

Building a Nest: Scenes from the Nursery

Since we are getting closer to baby time, we decided we'd better finish up the nursery. Here are a few pictures I took:

This is the toy & book nook. ;-) I love these Target storage cubes for organizing baby clothes, shoes, toys, stuffed animals, books, etc. My husband and I each added some special touches to personalize the space. The Rays (baseball) mascot on the wall and Florida-related toys (the manatee and orange stuffed animals) were his picks and I added the fairy picture and some of my own stuffed animals that I've saved over the years. Most of the books we picked out together at the library's annual book sale a few months ago, along with a few that we received as gifts. We're both big readers, so we have to start off our girl's library with some good reads. ;-)

Here's her crib with birdy bedding and the rocker that my mom scored at a nice baby consignment shop recently (topped with a quilt found by a friend who gave it to me at my shower). The yellow flower picture was a gift from an old family friend who painted it for us as a wedding gift. I love how all of the pinks, greens, and yellows look mixed together in this part of the room!

My well-stocked changing table. The manatee artwork above the table was another gift from a friend who does fabric art and quilting. Isn't it cool?!

That's it for now. I'll try to get a few non-baby related posts in this week or weekend. I've been reading a lot so I've got some book reviews and I'll try to remember to snap some outfit pictures (not that my outfits have been very exciting lately). I still feel like there's so much to do before the baby arrives! Not much longer!
