30 for 30 Challenge: Outfit 17

I'm plugging away at Kendi's 30 for 30 Challenge, but it's definitely getting more difficult. Today's outfit isn't very exciting. I've already worn that flower belt recently and didn't really want to repeat it again so soon but this black dress needed something to make it more interesting.

I'll post the second part of my Anthro reviews tomorrow morning. I've got to finish some grading now for my online class!

Sunday Anthro Reviews: Part 1

As I mentioned before, my friend Sara (Mommyland) and I had a fun Anthro shopping trip on Sunday. I'm going to break my reviews into two posts. Check out Sara's reviews here.

This first picture is the pretty Bits of Pearl Blouse which is now on sale and comes in this lovely grey-blue color and ivory. It caught my eye when it went on sale last week and I also loved how Kathryn from In Pursuit of Pretty Things paired it with the Scalloped Dots Skirt. Then I saw how cute it looked on Roxy from Effortless Anthropologie with the colored cami underneath and I knew I definitely had to have it. Be sure to click on my links to check out their outfits. It looks like there are still plenty of these blouses left online and in stores, so I highly recommend it if you like dainty, pretty blouses. It is fairly sheer (but that's nothing a cami underneath can't fix). The back has cute pleating down the middle.

Here's the blouse with another sale item, the Cattleya Cardigan (still available in some stores). I wanted to see if the fluttery sleeves would lay flat under a cardigan so I grabbed this one and it ended up looking really cute with it. Unfortunately there weren't any mediums at my store and this small that I had on was too snug.

More reviews coming tomorrow! I tried on some cute cardigans! :-)

This last shot is one that Sara took in front of the store and I'm laughing because she said she could see her reflection in the window taking the picture. hee hee :-)

30 for 30 Challenge: Half-way Done!!

I'm at the half-way point in Kendi's 30 for 30 Challenge. Here are outfits 15 & 16. I don't know why I'm doing a weird squinty thing with my eye in the first picture. I guess my eyes were just tired because I didn't sleep well the night before.

I hope everyone else has had a fun weekend because I sure did! On Saturday my husband and I got to test drive some cars which has helped us narrow it down and figure out what we like in our price range. I think we'll probably get something next weekend. We also got to see Inception last night and it was SO good! I highly recommend it if you haven't already seen it. Just make sure that you do NOT go to the bathroom or you will miss something important. This is one of those movies that you really have to pay attention to in order to catch all of the little details.

Today my friend Sara (Mommyland) and I went to our local Anthro store. I'll post reviews soon! We found some really cute things to try on and Sara got to use her birthday discount. I got the lovely Bits of Pearl Blouse in grey. Yay!

What did everyone else do this weekend?

Fun Anthro Links

There were some fun posts yesterday in the Anthro blogging community that I got to be a part of!

Kim at Anthroholic is celebrating her one year blog birthday and she invited us to participate in a virtual birthday party by sending in pictures in our Anthro party dresses. Check out all the great outfits that her party attendees put together!

Over at Anthrosdottir, Cat asked for ideas for incorporating Anthro into work outfits. There are some cute outfits to check out! Isn't Cat's Aloha dress pretty? Send in your outfit to Cat for the Anthro at Work feature next week!

Here are my outfits from their blogs with the details:

TGIF!

First of all, if you haven't already done so, make sure you head over to Roxy's blog Effortless Anthropologie to enter her big giveaway that ends tonight.

I have no outfit post for today because I'm just wearing an old pair of jean shorts and shirt since I had to run errands in my car with no air conditioning. On top of that inconvenience, my car decided to die in the parking lot of the post office. Fortunately my friend Sara was able to come to my rescue and pick me up. It turned out well because we got to have lunch together and a fun little visit. My husband has to go take care of the car tonight after work and we might be looking into getting me a new (used) car this weekend.

I get to see Sara again on Sunday for a little trip to Anthro. I'm hoping they will have lots of the stuff that I want to review. The things that I want to try most are:
Compeer Dress -- I think this might look cute with the Deco Page Cardigan over it!
Precious Materials Cardigan
Acting Out Skirt
Gardener's Field Book Top
Seasons Way Tee
Marine Mural Dress
Mirror Mirror Tank
Sale Items: Cattleya Cardigan, Bits of Pearl Blouse, Sweet Shoppe Dress

30 for 30 Challenge: Outfit 13

I wanted to try to wear a few things that I haven't used yet for Kendi's 30 for 30 Challenge so I grabbed this green floral skirt & white cardigan. Pairing the green shirt with it is probably a bit too much green, but it made the outfit more comfortable and casual. I wouldn't normally wear these shoes with this outfit but I only picked 3 pairs of shoes for the challenge and none of them are brown so this was the best I could do. :-)

Shirt:LOFT
Skirt & Belt: Anthropologie
Cardigan: Bealls
Necklace: Maurices

Here's a bonus outfit from tonight. I changed into capris to go out for BBQ for dinner with my husband.
