Getting Back on Track

Sorry I haven't posted much lately! It always takes me a little while to get back into my routine after I return from a long trip. We had such a good time in San Diego! It's kind of nice to be home again though and sleep in your own bed. And we missed our fur-babies! They are really happy that we're home. :-)

Anyway, after a break for a few days, I'm getting back to Kendi's 30 for 30 Challenge. I didn't get a picture of my outfit during our last day in San Diego (it was pretty boring anyway) and then ever since we got home it has been so HOT and the air conditioner in both of our cars is broken so I've just been wearing old t-shirts and shorts while trying to stay cool. Today I started the challenge again so here is Outfit #12:

Dress: Old Navy
Tank: Belk
Cardigan: Target
Belt: Anthropologie
Sandals: Target

I'm sorry if everyone is getting sick of seeing this cardigan! I do seem to wear it a lot. Today it was a necessity though because I needed to cover up a weird tan line on my upper arms. I got burnt in San Diego and it hasn't faded yet. In fact, I may need to use a self-tanner to even things out until I can go to the beach. Any recommendations on brands to try? I've never used any before.
I'm wearing my new Anthro belt and I think I like this color combo with the coral, turquoise and grey! :-)

30 for 30 Challenge: Outfits 10 & 11

We've only got a little bit of time left in San Diego! I wish we could stay longer but we have done some fun things during our stay. Wednesday night we saw King Lear at the Old Globe Theatre in Balboa Park. It was an excellent performance and the theater was really cool too. I wore this Anthro outfit and it was a great choice for the mild weather. I didn't even need the sweater.

Blouse, Skirt & Belt: Anthropologie
Tights: Forever 21
Shoes: Naturalizer

Yesterday was pretty warm so I threw on a light skirt with a blue tee & sandals.

Shirt: Steve & Barry's
Skirt & Belt: Anthropologie
Sandals: Target
Necklace: Urban Outfitters

Here's a close up of my necklace (the L is for my last name if you were wondering):

Today we're going for a harbor cruise to see the sea lions and then to a Padres game tonight. Happy Friday everyone! :-)

Anthro Reviews Featuring New Purple Mystery Dress

When I was at Anthropologie the other day with Carol from In Pursuit of Pretty Things, I tried on a dress that I think is brand new because I haven't seen it before in stores or online.

It's a pretty purple color with brownish undertones, it's super comfortable and stretchy and it has pockets. I think this will be flattering on lots of different body types.

I was also determined to find a belt to wear with the lavender Tiny Windows dress that I got recently. I tried the red belt with the flower in the front (Green Thumb belt?) and the coral Cylindrical Braid Belt. Carol helped me decide that the second was the better choice, so I got that. They had a few Tiny Windows dresses left but the one I tried on below was a size smaller than the one I have at home so please excuse the bulging buttons! :-) I think it looks pretty with the belt though.

I also tried the belt on with the Two-Wheeler Dress and thought it worked well with that too. So, if that dress ever goes on sale so I can get it then I'll already have a cute belt to wear with it. ;-)

I also tried on the Celia Blouse which is beautiful but it didn't fit me well. It's very sheer so I left my tank top on underneath. The little buttons and details are so pretty. This blouse will look really cute on others but it's a pass for me.

Last, here's a shot of the necklace that I got. I've been wanting the Gilded Impatiens Necklace in gold forever so I was delighted to see one left! I've seen lots of the silver still around but I prefer the gold. You'll be seeing a lot of this necklace!

I was hoping to find the Picture Frame Blouse and the Red Delicious Blouse on the sale racks but there weren't any in my size. I was also thinking about getting the Shifting Feathers dress but there weren't any smalls left and it's probably a good thing because I really should wait for it to go on sale. Overall it was a really fun shopping trip with Carol and it's so cool to see how different stores look. This one was laid out completely different from my store.

San Diego Day 2: Anthro & A New Friend

I had such a great time yesterday meeting Carol from In Pursuit of Pretty Things! She took me to Anthropologie and we did a little shopping of course but we also had so much fun just chatting. Carol is so cute and incredibly nice! I'll post some pictures and reviews of the things I tried on soon. In the meantime, check out Carol's blog to see her looking fabulous in the red Cascading Bows dress!

Here we are inside Anthro:

30 for 30 Challenge: Outfits 6 & 7

After a loooonnnng day of traveling and some late flights we finally made it to San Diego yesterday. Love it so far! :-)

Here are some OOTD's for Kendi's 30 for 30 Challenge that I didn't have time to post earlier. Sorry about the poor quality of the photos. My husband promised to buy me a tripod and timer when we get home so I can use his nice camera for my outfit pictures from now on (and maybe do some outside shots).

This first one is a comfy outfit that I wore on Saturday for lunch with my family and dropping off my dogs so they can be boarded during our trip. I'm not so sure about the color pairing, but hey, I have to remix only 30 items for this challenge so I'll probably have some duds along the way.

Dress: Target, Converse
Cardigan: Target
Sandals (not seen): Target

Next is my traveling outfit. I knew I needed to wear layers for the plane and for transitioning from HOT Florida to cool San Diego. This proved to be a good choice and it didn't wrinkle too badly. This picture was taken in our hotel room. I don't know why my legs look so freakishly pale! Yikes! They aren't that bad in real life. :-)

Shirt, Skirt & Belt: Anthropologie
Cardigan: Bealls
Shoes: Naturalizer

I'll post today's outfit later since my husband needed to take the camera with him to the conference for the afternoon. I think we're going to have a late lunch in Old Town and spend the evening exploring the city.
