The last two months have been pretty amazing and I've got some exciting news to share! I graduated with my PhD last month and just accepted a position as an Assistant Professor of English at a university not far from home. I'm excited about my new job and that I will get to stay close to family.

Maia has also had an exciting few months as she continues to grow and learn new things. She will turn one next month! How did that happen?! She's close to walking on her own and has been walking around holding onto the furniture and zooming around pushing her musical walker for awhile now.
It was so special having her at my graduation ceremony. She ended up falling asleep but was a good girl throughout. Here she is asleep on my shoulder after the ceremony.

That little giraffe is her favorite toy! :-)
Well, I've got to get some writing done this afternoon before we head off for a little house-hunting this weekend in our new town. Have a great weekend everyone!
Congrats!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on such an impressive achievement and the new career! Happy early one year to Maia, where does the time go? Look at those gorgeous eyes! Glad to hear all is well!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Debbie! Maia is precious! I can't believe it's been a year! Good to hear from you again.
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Debbie, on the degree AND the job! Well done! And Maia is so lovely - the time just goes by so fast. Kate is almost three and it's killing me! They grow up too quickly, sometimes.
ReplyDeleteA humongous congratulations goes out to you, Debbie! Way to go, woman! I CANNOT BELIEVE how big Maia is since the last time I visited! What a little darling. They grow so fast! Banks is almost crawling and I'm bracing myself for a whole new lifestyle now! Everything on lockdown!! All the best to you and your sweet family.
